Nice Design!
Does it have a meaning behind it?

Great drawing. It reminds me of the pattern from the Glamis stone in Scotland but with your flare to the design. I have always been intrigued with this design. Thinking of a tattoo but needing a different flare to it also wanting to incorporate some oak leaves. Will have to show you me design if interested. Thanks again... your work is awesome. I check your folders often.

can you afford to give me a tip on how to create aesthetic knot work like the beauty above? I have been struggling lately and would appreciate some advice. I had to ask...I'd also understand your want to keep your secrets. Hail the Gods of the north! Frith!

Hmmm. The cord boundaries become cords themselves. This could lead to a recursive fractal design.

Great suggestion! I think I will have to try and get my head around that one...

Hey, I found this design and thread of comments through The Knotters. Ironic Hop41 mentions fractal knots because a friend, ~herbevore, sent me a link a week ago with just that. [link] I've not played around with any yet but they are a good starting point to get your head around the idea.

As for your piece, very nice pencil work. It is clear, concise, and has excellent shading. The design it self is very unique; I particularly like the curves and how they mix with the straight lines.

I recall attempting to do fractals with old school pencils, pen and ink. An extremely laborious task! Such designs become much more doable with vector graphics.

I believe that you would be a natural vector graphics wizard should you ever attempt to learn Adobe Illustrator or Freehand.

Inkscape can be had for free.
Vector can be absolutely great for knotwork.
Save time to plot more fiendish designs.

lol- LOVE how you added the pen in this one to give a size visual! ;)
You know, I like to work in minis too- maybe I just might be able to do a small celtic knotwork design after all....
